new orleans sausage and rice

Ingredients:
1 sausage
1/2 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup uncooked brown rice
1 cup water
pepper, cayenne pepper and oregano to taste
Directions:
1. Heat water in a small sauce pan until it boils. Next, add rice and simmer for 30 min on low heat, until the rice is cooked.
2. Using a sharp knife on a cutting board, cut the sausages into half moon shapes.
3. Next, cut off broccoli florets, then cut the florets into smaller pieces.
4. In a medium sized frying pan, add 1 tsp. olive oil, then heat up the sausage and broccoli on medium to low heat for 7 minutes. Then, season with pepper, cayenne pepper and dried oregano to taste.
5. As a final step, add the cooked rice and serve in a bowl.
